NMCP Receives COVID-19 Vaccine

NMCP’S NURSE RESIDENCY PROGRAM RECEIVES REACCREDITATION

In 2016, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) was the first DoD medical command to obtain accreditation with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP) for its Nurse Residency Program. On Nov. 23, the program received reaccreditation with ANCC’s Practice Transition Accreditation Program.

NMCP’S HERT TEAM COMPLETES HAZMAT TRAINING

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) Hospital Emergency Response Team (HERT) completed patient decontamination training, Nov. 19. The more than 40 team members demonstrated donning/doffing personal protective equipment, setting up the tent shower system, before performing a timed final evaluation which included triage and decontaminating simulated victims of a hazardous materials release.

NMCP DOCTOR RECEIVES NAVY JUNIOR PSYCHOLOGIST OF THE YEAR

NMCP’S RRRT ASSISTS TEXAS HOSPITAL IN COVID-19 RESPONSE

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) Expeditionary Medical Facility (EMF) Rapid Rural Response Team (RRRT) deployed to Starr County Memorial Hospital in Rio Grande, Texas, to help in the fight against the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) from July 19 to Sept. 7.
