Separations-Retirement

IAW Manual of the medical department CH 15.

Separations and retirements have been streamlined and clarified to satisfy changes in Federal law, desires for smooth transition to care via the Veteran's administration, and current recommendations for clinical practice.

Exams will be performed for all separating service members within 180 days of the member's last active duty day. A focused physical exam on a SF 600, including DD 2807-1 Report of Medical History and DD 2697 Report of Medical Assessment will be performed by an appropriate examiner.

A TB skin test must be performed within 6 months of separation/retirement. HIV testing is required within 2 years of separation/retirement.

Please ensure adequate time for processing of physicals.
