Bone and Joint Sports Medicine Institute

The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth is committed to provide comprehensive orthopedic care to the Active Duty and Retired Service members and their families’ living in the Tidewater Area. Our physicians are fellowship trained and board certified or eligible in a variety of orthopedic subspecialties to ensure that patients receive expert, top quality care.

Orthopedic services available at the Bone & Joint Sports Medicine Institute:

  • Adult joint reconstruction and total joint replacement
  • Orthopedic oncologic surgery and reconstruction
  • Arthroscopic surgery (hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow and wrist)
  • Treatment of femoroacetabular impingement
  • Foot and ankle traumatic and reconstructive surgery
  • Microsurgery
  • Orthopedic trauma, including complex fractures
  • Pediatric orthopedic surgery
  • Shoulder and Knee reconstruction
