MHS GENESIS Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and its clinics uses MHS GENSIS as the primary patient portal for making appointments, talking with your primary care physician, and accessing your medical records. MHS GENESIS replaced TRICARE Online as the patient portal.
How to Make Enrollment Changes Outside of TRICARE Open Season
TRICARE Open Season 2022 has ended. If you didn’t enroll or make a change to your TRICARE health plan during open season, you must wait until the next open season unless you have a TRICARE Qualifying Life Event (QLE). TRICARE Open Season happens each fall. To learn more, visit: https://tricare.mil/lifeevents.

In a Defense Health Agency Market that serves more than 390,000 beneficiaries, U.S. Navy Capt. Stacie Milavec is the subject matter expert on all matters concerning clinical laboratory and anatomic pathology services. So, when Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) Commanding Officer U.S. Navy Capt. Shelley Perkins first asked her to look for ways to optimize services within the newly established Tidewater Market, Milavec, with more than 23 years of experience in military medicine, took on the challenge and immediately began to identify opportunities.

Antibiotic Allergy De-Labeling Improves Healthcare and Saves Money
Antibiotics are one of the most frequently prescribed medications in the world today. And among all antibiotics, penicillin and related beta-lactam antibiotics have proven to be the safest and most effective at eradicating common bacterial infections since their discovery in the early 20th century. Unfortunately, today, many U.S. patients are incorrectly labeled as having a penicillin allergy, which limits their access to essential medications and makes them vulnerable to complications associated with broad-spectrum antibiotic treatments.
