Developmental Pediatrics
The Neurodevelopmental Pediatric Clinic cares for military children with a range of developmental and behavioral difficulties. Our clinicians provide comprehensive assessment for infants and children with known or suspected disabilities and/or complex medical needs. These include autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, and cerebral palsy.
A referral is required from your PCM or specialist. To schedule an appointment, call 757-953-5668.
Before your appointment
Our goal is to make your child’s assessment as thorough as possible. Before your visit, please download, complete, and return the following forms. In addition, please send copies of ANY previous evaluation (developmental, school, speech/language, occupational therapy, physical therapy), Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) or Individualized Education Program (IEP). Our clinic scheduler will contact you to make an appointment once this information has been received.
Resources for your child prior to your visit
We know the visit to our clinic can be a new experience for your child and may cause some stress and anxiety. Local Girl Scout Troop 29 created some coloring books and a video to assist you in preparing your child for your clinic visit. They are also improving the patient experience at the developmental clinic and making it more sensory-friendly.
For returning patients, please send or bring copies of
- Updated school evaluations and/or IEP
- Therapy progress notes (speech, occupational, physical, or ABA)
