COVID-19 Call Center, 757-953-6200,  is OPEN Monday - Friday 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday - Sunday 7 a.m. - 3 p.m., Closed on Holidays.

Physical Therapy

The Physical Therapy Department at NMC Portsmouth and our satellite clinics are dedicated to facilitating recovery and return to duty for injured active duty service members and beneficiaries.

We feature three outpatient physical therapy divisions: general medicine, sports, and spine rehabilitation, as well as inpatient and post-surgical physical therapy services.

We also offer Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation services with a Wounded Warrior Program, aquatic therapy, and electroneuromyographic nerve conduction velocity testing (EMG-NCV).

Our clinical staff includes physical therapists, a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, physical therapist assistants, athletic trainers, and physical therapy technicians.

Availability of Services

Outpatient consultation, inpatient consultation, general rehabilitation, sports rehabilitation, spine rehabilitation, electromyographic-nerve conduction velocity testing (EMG-NCV), aquatic therapy, wounded warrior program, and inpatient/post-surgical rehabilitation


New patients should arrive 15 minutes prior to appointment time. A referral is required to make an initial appointment. Follow-up appointments and treatment appointments will be scheduled based on individual patient needs.
