Exercise at NMCP Thursday Morning

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) will be conducting a hospital-wide exercise Thursday, Aug. 21 around 9:30 a.m.  At that time patients will hear an exercise announcement on the overhead loudspeakers and staff will act appropriately. This may include the staff briefly closing reception windows, and informing patients of the instructions the staff would give to ensure their safety. There will also be a very brief restriction of movement for patients.

Thank you for your patience while we practice for a safer Naval Medical Center.

Hurricane Preparedness

We are tracking hurricane Erin that will pass the Eastern seaboard by the end of the week.

There is currently no plan to discontinue any outpatient services at NMCP or its outlying clinics. Please monitor this page for any updates to possible impacts on care because of conditions from Erin.

While the final path of Erin is uncertain at this point, we still need to be prepared and keep ourselves and our loved ones safe and ready in case of any emergency.

Medications

When preparing for a hurricane, it's crucial to include medications in your emergency plan. Have at least a two-week supply of all necessary medications, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, and store them in a waterproof container. Also, ensure you have a list of your vital medications, dosages, and doctor's contact information on you.
