Gastroenterology Services

Gastroenterology (GI) Clinic at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth is staffed with experts in the field and provide some of the most advanced diagnostic and treatment practices in the Tidewater area.  The Clinic’s services include diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy for management and treatment of acute and chronic Gastroenterological disorders and liver disease for both outpatients and inpatients.

Our Clinic is currently serving the Active Duty population.  A referral is required through your Primary Care Manager. 

Gastroenterology Services include EGD, Colonoscopies, liver biopsies, Paracentesis, Fibroscan (non-invasive liver fibrosis assessment), Esophageal and Anorectal Manometry capabilities and advanced procedures to include EUS and ERCPs. 
 

Endoscopy Clinic

The field of medicine concerned with the function and disorders of the digestive system and the liver. Medical evaluation, management and treatment of acute and chronic Gastroenterologic problems and liver disease.

Availability of Services

By referral only. No walk-in visits are available.

Appointments

Patients should check in at the front desk at least 15 minutes prior to their appointment. Patients having procedures (ie: colonoscopy / upper endoscopy) should check in at the front desk with their designated driver 1 hour prior to scheduled time.
