Pharmacy

We’re pleased to provide pharmacy services to all our patients. You can fill prescriptions at no cost from any of our pharmacy locations. If you have a prescription from a TRICARE network or non-network provider, you may fill it here, as long as it’s available on our Basic Core Formulary. Call us at 757-953-0258 to see if your drug is available. We provide up to a 90-day supply for most drugs.

Our Military Pharmacy Services

You are able to receive services at any one of the pharmacies listed on the Tidewater Navy Pharmacies Sites page.

Maintenance Drugs

Maintenance drugs are those you take regularly for a chronic condition (i.e., drugs to control blood pressure or cholesterol). All beneficiaries must refill certain maintenance drugs through home delivery or at military pharmacies. This does not apply to active duty service members.

Transferring Prescriptions

If you have prescriptions at a TRICARE network pharmacy, you may transfer your prescriptions to our military pharmacy. Call the Express Scripts Member Choice center at 877-882-3335 to learn more about prescription transfers.

Basic Core Formulary

All military pharmacies have a Basic Core Formulary. The Basic Core Formulary is a list of drugs that are available at all full-service military pharmacies. Call us at 757-953-0258 to see if your drug is available.

New Prescriptions

All prescriptions must be submitted electronically by your provider.
Some exceptions apply. Ask your pharmacy representative for more information.

Activate your prescriptions using Q-Anywhere 24/7/365.

Text “get in line” to 833-217-2199 or scan the QR Code and follow the prompts.

You will receive a text message when your prescriptions are ready for pickup. Beneficiaries activating prescription after hours will receive a text during working hours the next business day.

Text “I am here” upon arrival at the pharmacy you selected and listen for your number.

Call the Pharmacy Call Center at 757-953-0258 during your referred pharmacy’s work hours and follow the prompts to talk with a representative.

All pharmacies can be reached Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Refills and Renewals



Refills require 3 business days to process (not to include Saturday, Sunday or Holidays)

Scott Center Refill Pharmacy

 Location: Norfolk Naval Shipyard – Scott Center Annex Pharmacy, 1572 Cluverius St., Portsmouth, VA 23709

Services:

  • Available to all eligible beneficiaries
  • Refills require three business days to process (not including weekends or holidays)
  • To process refills call the Refill Line at 757-936-6524 or 866-285-1008
  • Refills can also be processed using the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal

Hours of Operation: Refill Drive-Thru Pickup Hours

  • Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Closed weekends and federal holidays

Renewals

Contact your provider

  • If your current prescription has no refills remaining, you must contact your provider for a prescription renewal.
  • Once your provider has sent in the renewed prescription, please follow the Q-anywhere steps (text "get in line"  to 833-217-2199) as if the renewal was a new prescription.

Prescription Costs

While there are no costs for prescriptions here at NMCP, there are costs for filling prescriptions via home delivery or at network pharmacies for all non-active duty beneficiaries:

Active duty service members have a $0 copayment for covered drugs at any pharmacy.

TRICARE Formulary

The TRICARE Formulary is a list of generic and brand-name prescription drugs covered by TRICARE. You can search the TRICARE Formulary to:
  • See how much it costs and where you can get it filled
  • See if your prescription needs prior authorization
  • Look up the medical necessity criteria
  • Get the prior authorization and medical necessity forms for your prescription
