Pharmacy

We’re pleased to provide pharmacy services to all our patients. You can fill prescriptions at no cost from any of our pharmacy locations. If you have a prescription from a TRICARE network or non-network provider, you may fill it here, as long as it’s available on our Basic Core Formulary. Call us at 757-953-0258 to see if your drug is available. We provide up to a 90-day supply for most drugs.

NOTICE Limited Distribution of Weight Loss Medications Effective immediately, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and associated Branch Health Clinics and Tricare Prime Clinics will only be able to dispense a 28-day supply of injectable medications for weight loss at each fill. Impacted prescription medications include: Wegovy (semaglutide), Zepbound (tirzepatide), and Saxenda (liraglutide). Prescriptions for the following medications, used to treat diabetes, will be dispensed for up to a 56-day supply at each fill: Ozempic (semaglutide), Mounjaro (tirzepatide), Victoza (liraglutide), and exenatide. If you have questions or concerns regarding this change in procedure, please call the Pharmacy Call Center at 757-953-0258 to contact your preferred pharmacy directly. We apologize for the inconvenience and will return to Tricare dispensing limits as soon as feasible. Thank you for understanding and please continue to monitor this page for updates.

Our Military Pharmacy Services

You are able to receive services at any one of the pharmacies listed on the Tidewater Navy Pharmacies Sites page.

Maintenance Drugs

Maintenance drugs are those you take regularly for a chronic condition (i.e., drugs to control blood pressure or cholesterol). All beneficiaries must refill certain maintenance drugs through home delivery or at military pharmacies. This does not apply to active duty service members.

Transferring Prescriptions

If you have prescriptions at a TRICARE network pharmacy, you may transfer your prescriptions to our military pharmacy. Call the Express Scripts Member Choice center at 877-882-3335 to learn more about prescription transfers.

Basic Core Formulary

All military pharmacies have a Basic Core Formulary. The Basic Core Formulary is a list of drugs that are available at all full-service military pharmacies. Call us at 757-953-0258 to see if your drug is available.

New Prescriptions

All prescriptions must be submitted electronically by your provider.
Some exceptions apply. Ask your pharmacy representative for more information.

You will receive a text message when your prescriptions are ready for pickup. Beneficiaries activating prescription after hours will receive a text during working hours the next business day.

Refills require 3 business days to process (not to include Saturday, Sunday or Holidays)

Scott Center Refill Pharmacy

Services:

• Available to all eligible beneficiaries
• Refills require three business days to process (not including weekends or holidays)

• Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Renewals

Contact your provider

• If your current prescription has no refills remaining, you must contact your provider for a prescription renewal.
• Once your provider has sent in the renewed prescription, please follow the Q-anywhere steps (text "get in line"  to 833-217-2199) as if the renewal was a new prescription.

Prescription Costs

While there are no costs for prescriptions here at NMCP, there are costs for filling prescriptions via home delivery or at network pharmacies for all non-active duty beneficiaries:

Active duty service members have a $0 copayment for covered drugs at any pharmacy.
