NMCP’S GALLEY HOSTS HOLIDAY MEAL

By Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Ariana Torman

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (December 8, 2021) – Naval Medical Center Portsmouth’s (NMCP) leadership and members of the Command Executive Board devoted time to the NMCP’s galley serving lines for a holiday meal, Dec. 8.

The menu included shrimp cocktail, New England clam chowder, roast turkey, ribeye, and ham, among other holiday classics like mashed potatoes, asparagus, glazed carrots and macaroni & cheese, with a dessert selection of assorted pies and cookies.

“The CSs (Culinary Specialists) always step up to the plate for these large meals,” said Lt. Mari Moffitt, NMCP’s Nutrition Management assistant department head. “They make almost everything from scratch and it takes a lot of effort. I am so proud of them.”

Nearly 240 members of NMCP’s staff and patients enjoyed the holiday meal.
