Naval Medical Forces Atlantic Transgender Care Team (NMFL-TGCT)
The NMFL-TGCT is a multidisciplinary team composed of Nurse Case Managers, Social Workers, and providers in Medical, Surgical, and Behavioral Health specialties who are passionate about restoring, sustaining, and enhancing the health and wellbeing of transgender Service Members assigned to The Navy Medical Forces Atlantic geographic region. The care team provides direct guidance and administrative support to Active Duty and Reserve Service Members, their Commands, and their medical care providers. They also maintain appropriate clinical oversight of all medically necessary care, including hormonal, surgical, and mental health interventions for transgender Service Members.
Information for Patients
Please contact your Medical Officer or military PCM for referral to the NMFL-TGCT for assistance with your transition process. Once appropriate referrals have been placed, you will be connected with a Case Manager who can provide additional information to you and your medical team. As DoD and DHA guidance is regularly updated, please discuss current necessary documentation and evaluations with your PCM and Case Manager for the most up to date versions of Medical Treatment Plans, Supplemental Healthcare Program Waivers, and Gender Marker Changes.
