Education: Asbury University, BS in Biochemistry, minor in Music; University of South Florida, MD; Columbia University Masters in Patient Oriented Research
Residency: Pediatrics, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth
Fellowship: Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, Columbia University Medical Center/Children’s Hospital of New York training program.
Lt Col Mikles lives in Norfolk, VA and has the privilege of living next door to her sister and nephews. She is an active member in her church, both in music ministry as well as foster care and adoption ministry. In 2018, she was certified as a Foster Parent and has since fostered children and teenagers; in December 2021, she formally adopted one of the teens placed in her home. She is a Clinical Associate Professor through the Uniformed Services University and a Master Clinician through Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.
She has two puppies, one of which she adopted during the COVID-19 Quarantine because, well, why not?
She is interested in clinical research in the area of Pediatric Oncology. She runs the Pediatric Oncology research program at NMCP which has undergone multiple successful, highly praised national audits. She now is responsible for all of the Pediatric Oncology research for the entire DoD, at 6 Military Treatment Facilities
