Welcome to the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Portsmouth’s GME office homepage. Our goal is to develop board eligible medical professionals to provide safe, quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care to all our beneficiaries and military populations serving in all environments both home and aboard.
 
For incoming and prospective GME trainees, you will find links to curriculum details and contact information for most of our intern, resident, and fellowship programs using the navigation bar on the left. If you have additional questions that are not answered there or need additional contact numbers, please don’t hesitate to call our front office at 757-953-5109 where we can help direct your request.
 
For medical students considering a rotation with us, the Office for Student Affairs will begin accepting rising 4th year clerkship requests from the current HPSP, HSCP or USUHS graduating class starting on the first Tuesday in December. In order to request a clerkship, click on the link at the bottom right of this webpage titled "Request for Clerkship/Interview," fill out the requested information, and send it to the group email address listed on the top of the form.

Effective July 2023: Naval Medical Center Portsmouth Graduate Medical Education Policy: 
-HPSP students are allowed for only one (1) non-ADT military clerkship rotation during their entire HPSP scholarship
 
Please review the Medical Student Rotation Application FAQ's section on the bottom right side of our webpage before filling out and submitting your clerkship and/or interview request. For each rotation you are applying for please ensure you submit an individual request, as they are dispersed to different coordinators for consideration.
 
We are unable to host non US Citizen students or who students who attend a school located outside of the United States.
